DeBordieu Club Pools

DeBordieu Club offers two beautiful pool locations. A large ocean front pool is located next to the Gazebo Bar and the Beach Club. There is also a pool at the Pavilion/Recreation Center across from the Beach Club, which is perfect for young children! Club pools are open seasonally and are not heated. Pools are NOT supervised by lifeguards. Members and guests are strongly encouraged to read and abide by the Pool Rules. Guest access to pools may require identification. Aquatic programs for members and guests are offered May through mid-September at the Pavilion Pool.

*Pools may be closed due to adverse weather conditions. One pool may be temporarily closed for an occasional special event or seasonal maintenance.

Modified Pool Rules Due to COVID-19

• No unaccompanied children. Dependents of members under 16 must be accompanied by their member parent.

• Members are not to enter if they or an immediate household member has not been feeling well or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19/coronavirus.

• Members are to follow social distancing guidelines while in and out of the water.

• Hand sanitizer stations will be available.

• No shareable equipment allowed in the pool area (i.e. floats, kickboards, pool noodles, etc.).

• Thorough cleaning protocols are in place for the entire pool area and bathrooms in the morning before opening and in the evenings.

• The chairs and tables have been arranged using social distancing recommendations.

• All aquatic programs and events have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.

• These guidelines will be posted at the facilities for reference.


Pool Rules

  1. Only DeBordieu Club members and their guest or lease guests are allowed to use the pools.
  2. The Board of Governors requires that anyone entering the pool areas must sign the pool register book each day.
  3. Each person must take a shower before entering the pool, especially if he/she is coming from the beach.
  4. Please note that swimming is at your own risk.
  5. No one who is ill, has been recently injured, or has an open sore or skin disease may go in the pools.
  6. No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will use the pool. Absolutely, NO GLASS OR SHARP OBJECTS ARE PERMITTED IN THE POOL AREA.
  7. All swimmers must wear bona fide swimming attire. Cut-offs, dungarees, and Bermuda shorts are not considered appropriate swimwear.
  8. Only children ages 5 and under are allowed in the wading pool. Parents or responsible guardians of children using the wading pool must be present and inconstant attendance.
  9. Non-toilet trained children can enter the pool or wading pool only with a swim diaper.
  10. Please change all baby diapers in the designated area and dispose of diapers in diaper pail only.
  11. All children age 12 or under regardless of their swimming proficiency must be supervised by a parent or an adult age 18 or older. The parent or accompanying adult of children who cannot swim should be in the pool with such children.
  12. Use of large floatation devices are not allowed in the pool. Small floats such as “swimmies” or noodles may be used at the discretion of the parent or guardian. Parent of guardian must be present with the child at all times and assumes full responsibility for the safety of their child.
  13. No Running or rough play is allowed. These rules are designed with safety in mind and the attendant has the authority to request that offenders leave the pool area. If there is any problem, the attendant will call Security.
  14. All person using the pool area are urged to cooperate in keeping the area clean by properly disposing of towels, cans, etc.
  15. All personal injuries and accidents must be reported to the pool manager immediately. Any accidents will be recorded and reported to management.
  16. A first aid kit, properly stocked with necessary supplies, is located on the wall above the rules sign.
  17. No music devices without headphones are allowed in the pool area.
  18. No animals or pets are allowed in the pools or pool areas.
  19. No diving is allowed.
  20. The authority of the pool manager and the attendants on any matter pertaining to the use of pool areas are final. If you have a problem, contact the General Manager. Violation of the Pool Rules can result in restriction from pool areas.
  21. Pool parties must be scheduled through the Club Management.
